Keen
The history of the German brand Keen began way back in 1940 with the small company Ewald, which was founded by the hairdresser Robert Schmidt in the city of Frauenwald. At first, the company was engaged in the production of special toilet water for hair based on healing mountain herbs, but in 1947 it expanded its range of hygienic toilet water, cologne and hair elixir from birch sap. In 1953, Ewald began producing a sensational product for cold curling hair at the time, reaching another peak of its popularity on the European market.
In 1972, the company was nationalized by the GDR, its trademark was changed to Florena, but the management was still carried out by members of the Ewald family. At this time, the already grown company's products are exported mainly to the countries of Eastern Europe, where the demand for it is gradually increasing, thanks to the high quality of the goods. In 1975, the Florena brand took a colossal step in its development, releasing on the market the unique series of Stabilet® and Fonwell-Lotion® rinses and lotions, which were instantly appreciated by European hairdressing experts.
In 1990, the grandsons of Robert Schmidt were able to bring back their company, thanks to the 50% participation of Wella AG, and in 1993 they brought the eponymous brand Ewald Haarkosmetik to the international market. At the same time, the large-scale production of products intended for coloring, styling, hair care and hair improvement begins. In 1997, the Schmidt family bought the remaining share of the company from Wella AG and became an independent cosmetic brand on the world market, which is still an example of a family business.
The Keen brand was created by the Ewald GmbH company in 2009, its appearance marked the production of an innovative line of professional hair products under the same name Keen, which translates as "pursuit of passion". The Keen brand is distinguished by high standards of quality and safety, which are passed down from generation to generation, being true family values.
