PHILIPS
PHILIPS is a large international concern operating in the field of electronics, medical equipment and lighting technology.
The Philips concern was founded in 1891 by engineer brothers Gerard and Anton Phillips, who opened a small factory in the city of Eindhoven for the production of electric lamps with 10 workers and a capacity of 100-200 lamps per day. Today the concern is Europe's largest manufacturer of consumer electronics. Philips produces lamps, radios, electric shavers, tape recorders, televisions, computers, CDs, medical equipment, mobile phones, TDA, SAA, SAB series of chips, etc. The concern's enterprises are located in 60 countries and employ more than 120,000 workers.
According to the World Intellectual Property Organization, Philips is the leader in patented inventions. Over the years of activity, the concern has registered more than 155,000 patents in more than 60 business areas.
